The crown jewel of Danbury Forest, our community pool sits at the heart of the neighborhood at Danbury Forest Dr. and Clydesdale Rd. Open seasonally from Memorial Day through Labor Day, the pool features a shallow entry with steps, a dedicated lap lane, and a deep end with a diving board. Families also enjoy the wading pool designed for our smallest neighbors.
Residents have access to picnic tables, grills, and a shaded canopy area, which may also be reserved for private gatherings. During the season, sodas, snacks, and ice cream are available for purchase at the concession area. Pool access, canopy reservations, and other information are all available through the Pool Portal.
The Danbury Forest Community Garden provides residents with a peaceful space to grow vegetables, flowers, and herbs while connecting with neighbors who share a love of gardening. Located off Clydesdale Rd. near Donnelly Ct., the garden features generously sized plots, along with access to shared tillers and tools, available to members of the Garden Club for a modest seasonal fee.
Whether you are an experienced gardener or trying it for the first time, the garden offers a welcoming environment to learn, share ideas, and enjoy one of the community’s hidden gems.
Danbury Forest features six playgrounds and tot lots conveniently located throughout the neighborhood, all equipped with modern, high-quality play equipment and designed to give families easy access to outdoor recreation.
The main playground, affectionately called “The Tot Lot,” is centrally located beside the Lake Accotink trailhead and serves as a favorite gathering place for families and children. Additional playgrounds are spread throughout the community, ensuring that every part of the neighborhood is just a short walk from a play area.
Danbury Forest hosts a wide variety of community events throughout the year, organized by the Events Committee, Pool Committee, and dedicated neighborhood volunteers. These events help make Danbury Forest more than just a neighborhood—they help make it a community.
Traditions throughout the year include the Spring Carnival, Memorial Day Pool Opening BBQ, July 4 Parade and Bash, Labor Day Pool Closing Party, Fall Festival, Rocktoberfest, Thanksgiving Turkey Trot, “Fryday,” and the neighborhood favorite Santa Jeep Parade. During pool season, residents also enjoy events like float nights, potlucks, Bingo, grilling events, pizza parties, live music, adult swim nights, and the always-popular end-of-season dog swim.
